2007 Member Of The Year and Board Member Of The Year
March 1, 2007 - At the 29th Annual PROMES Awards Banquet, UH NSBE member Tiffany Chatman was awarded this year's member of the year award for continual participation at our meetings, events and general enthusiasm towards fulfilling the NSBE mission. Tiffany also was the recipient of a member of the month spotlight on the website previously.

During the same event, Titi Ottun, our 2006-2007 Career Fair Chair was awarded Board Member Of The Year. Titi, who is a graduating senior, has successfully coordinated two successful Career Fairs this academic year which served to provide our members and other students in technical majors an opportunity to interact with company representatives and find co-ops, internships, and full-time employment.

ExxonMobil Sponsors 15 Chapter Memberships
February 15, 2007 - Making good on his promise made at last November's meeting, Dr. Ram Seetharam with ExxonMobil came by to deliver a check for $300 to provide free memberships for 15 of our chapter members. In a time when our chapter is looking to expand our membership, ExxonMobil's investment in our future is sincerly appreciated.

Fluor presents $3,000 sponsorship to our NSBE chapter
January 18, 2007 - Byron James, a Process Engineer with Fluor Corporation presented a check to UH NSBE on behalf of his company that will provide funds for our programs including PCI and Academic Excellence initiatives. The entire UH NSBE chapter would like to recognize Fluor for their outstanding contribution.
